Maya looked at her computer screen. She was angry about her marketing project. Her boss said no to her idea again. He said she did not follow the company rules. "You need to do everything by the book this time," he told her in the morning meeting. Maya was sad. She had to go back to the drawing board again. This project was a piece of cake when she started three weeks ago. Now it was very hard. Her friend James came to her office with coffee. He sat down at her desk. "Let me cut to the chase," he said. "I know this work is difficult for you. But you are very creative." Maya smiled a little. She was happy he helped her. James was her friend through thick and thin for five years at the company. "You need to keep your chin up," he said. "Do you remember the Johnson project last year? Everyone said it was impossible. But you did it very well." Maya felt better when she heard his words. She opened a new file on her computer. She started writing new ideas. Maybe this time she could make something creative and follow company rules too. With James helping her, she was ready to try again.
